The official obituary is up on the Turrentine Jackson Morrow website. It points people to the blog, so if you're already here you obviously don't need to go there just to get directed back here. Still, if you'd like to leave a memorial comment on the funeral home website you can do that there. Note that there is also a link on that page to send flowers, but please see the logistics post for our memorial preferences.

Ashleigh's words ring clear that we don't see the layers our Heavenly Father sees. We know He walks with us and He is intimate with us in our hearts. I'm a better person for having followed Ashleigh along in her blog with her journey. She was a great encourager and Christian example in all ways. I offer my most sincere condolences to you Brad and your children and her parents and all her family, friends and coworkers. May you all be comforted at this time.

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
Dear Brad: Thank you. You are hurting so much right now (as are other family and friends), and you are keeping us blog people carefully updated each day. I am keeping you and your family and community in my prayers. Please remember to be good to yourself - rest, eat, meditate and lean on HIM. Please give your children a hug for me - a blog reader. Blessings -
ReplyDeleteI agree with Laurie. We are praying for you all. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. I went to high school with Ashleigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very very sorry for your loss Brad and the loss your boys will feel too. I'm a late reader to Ashleigh's blog but was amazed by her brightness in her attitude to her illness and life in general in the way she wrote and told her story. I know she's in a far better place, her and our real home niw, and I pray for Gods comforting arms around you and your boys and all who knew her well .
ReplyDeletePrayers and hugs from Australia xx
Reading that hurt my heart. She lived so fully and did so much. I know she is in Heaven, but it hurts me and I did not even know her. God bless you and your precious boys.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you Brad. I know no words can really comfort you right now, but know you and your precious boys are being prayed for.

ReplyDeleteBrad,
ReplyDeleteWe met once at Ashleigh's baby shower at Dr Pepper. I had the pleasure of working with Ashleigh providing analysis for a few projects. Admittedly, I was scared...perhaps just intimidated by her intelligence... when I started working with her.
Ashleigh was the last person to interview me before I started. She asked me the most difficult question out of all the rounds of interviews that I had been through. When I told her, "In times of uncertainty like my current situation with my job being relocated and a choice to move to Delaware (not possible as my wife of 5 months and I had just bought a home), or find a new job, all I can do is hope and pray that God has a plan and will lead me in the right direction." Her response was, "So, do you hope or believe that God is in control and has a plan for you?" I knew that I had the hope, by was waiting to see if God had a plan and then I would decide if He is in control.
In our morning believers meetings Ashleigh became a recurring example of faith and trust in God's plan. I struggled many times in the past with reconciling God's control with the terrible events and deaths that happen everyday. I would backslide into this doubt thinking "if God existed then these things wouldn't happen." This past year of reading Ashleigh's blog I was trying to understand how she could have such a strong faith in the midst of everything happening. It all came full circle for me this morning in our believers meeting. We gathered to share memories, grieve, and celebrate Ashleigh's life. We read through several verses about grieving, but it was the words from her blog that really made me see clearer than I have ever seen before. God IS in control. She was able to reach countless people on her blog. She was so open and real about her fears, pain, and struggle, but so grounded by her steadfast faith that God is in control. What an incredible legacy she has left.
prayers and i hope good give you spirit and always strong
